Loyola Marmount UniversityDr. Flowers-Jones, currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Belize in the Social Work Department , is an advanced professional social worker with 30 years of experience. Her achievements include housing over 250 families out of the Skid Row area, for which she has received commendations from the County of Los Angeles. She was a member of the Skid Row Collaborative Committee and served as a mentor for the LA Youth Conservation Corp and an AmeriCorps Service Coordinator in the Skid Row area. Her role as an advisor to Therapy Adventures, a Chicago-based organization that provides speech, occupational, physical, and behavioral therapies to children in Belize, further underscores her commitment to nurturing the next generation of social workers.
Dr. Flowers-Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Loyola Marymount University, a Master of Social Work from California State University Long Beach, and a Doctorate of Social Work from the University of Southern California. Dr. Flowers also collaborates with social impact organizations, particularly those led by women and minorities, to bring about positive transformations in their communities.
